Harry Colwill died from unspecified causes on 19th April, 1915, while serving with the Royal Engineers in France but it is not known if he died from wounds or from illness, both of which took their toll of the men on the Western Front. The 2nd Field Company of the Royal Engineers were part of 8th Division which arrived in France in November, 1914 and had been in action during the Battle of Neuve Chapelle in March, 1915.
